Brogue is a low-heeled shoe or boot with features such as sturdy leather uppers with decorative perforations as well as serrations along the visible edges. Brogues were traditionally considered to be outdoor or country footwear as the perforations were originally intended to allow the upper to dry more quickly in wet climates. As such, they were otherwise considered not appropriate for casual or business occasions, but brogues are now considered appropriate in most contexts. Modern brogues trace their roots to a rudimentary shoe originating in Scotland and Ireland that was constructed using untanned hide. Modern brogues feature decorative perforations. These are often said to stem from the original Irish brogues as well, specifically from holes intended to allow water to drain from the shoes when the wearer crossed wet terrain such as a bog. In this blog post, however, I will look into the reasons why a man should have brogues amongst other shoe designs on his shoe rack. I hope you all enjoy it.

Brogue 2

The first solid reason why you as a gentleman need brogues is the fact that these shoes are made of genuine leather. legit leather straight from the factory. And as we all know, genuine leather is super long-lasting. A product that will last for quite a long time. Most probably, the shoe will even serve a long list of your family’s generation. It also comes with a very thick sole. This sole is tough and very appropriate for various terrains; be it rough or even smooth ones. With this amazing feature, the shoe grants you top-notch comfort when on feet.

Another very simple but important reason that justifies why a man should own one of these kinds of shoes is their simple but elegant look. I love how the manufacturer behind this shoe came up with a simple design. Yet, the shoe fits both casual and official looks. Whether planning to attend a meeting or preparing for that coffee date with your partner, brogues can come in handy. The design comes in different color shades, but brown is the best of them all. This is based on my own opinion by the way.
