I say that Unisex Fashion Items are clothes, accessories, and shoes that can be worn by both men and women, without men looking too feminine or women looking too masculine. Unisex fashion items are not feminine clothes worn by men or masculine clothes worn by women.
Women, sometimes, tend to dress fully masculine, but this is a look that can be worn just in some situations.
Unisex clothes and accessories are usually simple, classic pieces in neutral colors and without a special cut.
Clothes that can be unisex are usually sporty ones or simple clothes from the basic wardrobe and in most cases made of classic known fabrics such as denim, leather, or cotton.
Besides sportswear some unisex clothes are simple shirts, T-shirts, blazers, boyfriend jeans, a sweater without a tailored cut, etc.
In terms of accessories, here we can find even more unisex pieces: hats, backpacks, bags, scarves, sunglasses, and even some belt designs.
And footwear can sometimes be unisex too. Cowboy boots and sneakers are the best examples.

How to wear unisex clothes
The secret is to keep the energy of your whole outfit masculine if you are a man, and feminine if you are a woman.
Here my post about the energy of our outfits http://ourfashionpassion.com/the-energy-behind-your-outfit/
If you are a man things are easier. Unisex fashion items have more masculine energy than feminine, therefore you’ll retain your masculine energy even if you only wear unisex clothes like a plain white T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and sneakers.
However, if you want a slightly more unusual outfit, change at least one piece for a more extravagant one that can only be found in a man’s wardrobe.
If you’re a woman, to balance the feminine energy with the masculine, choose no more than half of your unisex outfit pieces and complement the rest of your outfit with purely feminine elements.
However, if you want to have an outfit that contains both feminine and masculine energy equally, replace just one element with an eminent one. For example, you can keep the boyfriend jeans and sneakers but add a ruffled top in pale colors.
Also, another secret tip is, whether you’re male or female when you want to “steal” a coat from the opposite wardrobe choose the rest of the outfit in completely masculine energy if you’re a man or completely feminine for a woman.
Some unisex fashion styling rules
Keep your proportions.
Choose the colors suitable to your skin pigment tone.
If you have contrasts on your face an outfit a multi-colored outfit suits you better, but if you don’t have differences, monochrome suits you better.
If you want to look taller and slimmer wear monochrome or choose colors from lightest at the top to darkest at the bottom.
Also, dark colors are thinner, while light colors give the impression of more volume.
When you have multiple layers in your outfit it looks more stylish if you layer the colors from the lightest on the inside to the darkest on the outside.
Position the center of interest on the part you want to highlight.
My article on the center of attention:
And don’t forget masculinity and femininity are not just what you wear but also the way you think, talk and carry yourself and the clothes that suit you best are the ones that make you feel good.Recommended3 recommendationsPublished in Our Fashion Passion, Uncategorized
