NATIONAL DRESS OF PAKISTAN

Pakistan’s national dress, the shalwar kameez, is worn by females and males in all provinces. Pakistani ladies wear shalwar kameez, which come in a variety of patterns, colors, and designs, and are embellished with various embroidery motifs. Pakistani men usually wear Shalwar Kameez while some also wear Pakistani Kurtas and Shalwar vests. In Pakistan, the kurta is already a popular traditional garment. Looks like a bag with a drawstring closure. The kurta reaches the knees of the wearer in length. The kurta can be worn with pants or jeans. A vest can also be worn with a Kurta, Shalwar Kameez, and pajamas giving the dress a very elegant appearance.

REGIONAL CLOTHING

For defense against the arid Sulaiman Range and harsh winds of the Kharan Desert, the Baluchis wear a heavy cloth shalwar kameez with an unusually wide shalwar. They cover their heads with a long Baloch turban, usually white, to protect them from the sun’s rays.

 Sindhis wear shalwar kameez with ajrak of beautiful locally created designs and traditional Sindhi cap. According to the Punjabi climate, Punjabi men wear simple shalwar kameez, shalwar, and dhoti karta. A shalwar kameez can also be worn with a thin turban cloth, known as a turban in rural districts of Punjab. The khussa can also be worn with a dhoti kurta. Traditional business slippers are worn by Pashtuns. We speak of female religious clothing when we say “female religious clothing”.

When they leave the house, they strive to conceal every part of their bodies save their face and hands. Outside or in part, most ladies cover their faces with a Dupatta or Chador, whereas religious ladies prefer wearing a Scarf, Burqa, or Hijab.
