Fans of fashion, rejoice! The formal start of the Cannes Film Festival in 2022 (from 17 May to 29 May) The annual event, which takes place in Cannes, France, has one of the world’s most opulent red carpets (competing only with the Oscars and the Met Gala).
A-list celebrities will come from Hollywood to mount the event’s iconic red steps, dressed to the nines in custom, haute couture, or just-off-the-runway suits and gowns. Cannes came storming back in full swing last year after being canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic, and stars are certainly eager to channel some incredibly glamorous energy this year.
Kaia Gerber in a “Red Gown”
In support of her beau, who plays the King of Rock, the supermodel attended the global premiere of ELVIS at the Cannes Film Festival.
She was dressed in a crimson Celine gown with a halter neckline that matched the carpet wonderfully. The model had her hair up in a fairytale style and wore dewy makeup.
Kylie Minogue in a ‘Sheer Versace Dress’
The Australian singer wore a sleek black Versace gown on the red carpet. The gown was opulent, with a structured bodice and a beaded bralette hidden behind a mesh-boned corset top. The waist was also made of black mesh underneath the bodice, offering viewers a sleek peekaboo moment. The gorgeous gown was adorned with black crystals on the lower bodice above her hips.
Shakira ‘The Beauty in Black’
Shakira, a Colombian singer, drew attention with her attendance at the Cannes Film Festival’s “Elvis” premiere. She wore a black strapless gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh-high side split on the red carpet. Shakira accessorized her ensemble with silky black gloves and a stunning ring. Her silver necklace drew a lot of attention, too.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, ‘The Queen of Cannes’
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s performance at Cannes this year was nothing short of stunning. She looked stunning in a black Dolce & Gabbana gown embellished with bright flowers. While she looked lovely in it, the gown’s crease didn’t appear to be very flattering. Her other looks, however, did not disappoint us.
