I completely agree Tricia, if you engage your audience then first of all they know you actually care. Second, you will gain valuable insight into their thinking. I think the fear is that when people make suggestions they fear they will later turn that around and say “that was my idea”. So it is kind of a catch 22 for them to engage new ideas. Especially when you are talking about a lot of money.

But I notice most high profile people tend to dis engage from their audience and that in my humble opinion is a mistake.
