Chinese dramas are an all-time favorite of mine. Specifically historical dramas. Most recently, I began watching “Fall In Love” and I absolutely love it. “Fall In Love” is a 2021 Chinese drama set in the year 1926. It tells the story of Mu Wan Qing a young lady who returns to China to bury her mother’s ashes. Additionally, Mu Wan Qing has an actual motive in finding out why her parents divorced.
But far more important than the mystery surrounding her parents’ divorce is the untold narrative of her siblings’ deaths. Wan Qing’s path often crosses with that of Tan Xuan Lin and Xu Guang Yao as she begins to unravel the truths of the past.
Both gentlemen are on opposite sides of the upheaval in Shanghai, one a recently appointed leader of rebel troops and the other the son of a strong military commander, but they both take a liking to Wan Qing and vow to use their position and influence to aid her in her quest. The three form a close and lasting bond as a result of their actions, a connection that is shortly put to the ultimate test.
Now that you know a little bit about “Fall In Love” Chinese drama and will probably binge-watch it soon, let’s talk about the vintage fashion that I’m absolutely captivated by.
Since the show was set in the 1920s, China was still heavily influenced by British colonization. Hence, the reason traditional British clothing were still prominently worn in addition to the traditional Chinese clothing.
Let’s take a look at some of my favorite traditional British looks from the show.
